Magnetohydrodynamic discontinuities with finite electrical conductivity and boundary conditions at the magnetopause or a flare magnetoplasma

The Rankin-Hugoniot conditions are generalized for the case of anisotropic magneto-hydrodynamics with finite electrical conductivity. A general classification of discontinuities is given and their properties are described briefly. The conditions of applicability of discontinuities to the daytime magnetopause and of interplanetary discontinuities of the magnetopause type are discussed. 24 references.
