Electric field of polar caps under the assumption that the magnetopause is an anisotropic rotational discontinuity

The properties of the electric field E in polar caps are discussed on the assumption that the magnetopause is an anisotropic rotational discontinuity and on the basis of recent measurements of the profile of the E field across the caps at the heights of the polar ionosphere. 14 references.
