For the determination of CaO by fluorescence excitation, /sup 55/Fe and a tritium to titanium target were found to be the most effective radiation sources. Excitation spectra and counting rate--CaO composition correlations are presented for commercial iron ores, concentrates, and agglomerates. (DLC)
