OSTI ID:7334113
A six-channel converter which converts nanosecond time intervals into a digital code and is based on a time expander is described. The principal purpose of the device is to record signals from drift chambers. The maximum conversion time is approximately 25 ..mu.. sec. The width of a channel is 1 nsec, and the limiting resolving power is approximately 0.1 nsec. The number of channels is 2/sup 9/-1. The integral conversion linearity is 0.17 percent. The differential conversion linearity is 3 percent. The device is implemented in the CAMAC standard. The block was developed in the division of new scientific development at the High-Energy Laboratory, Joint Institute of Nuclear Research (JINR).
