Control of sulfur and ash in mine-run metallurgical coal. Report 1

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7323143
A preliminary survey of coal and coke plants has shown that appreciable increases in pig-iron production would result if furnaces were supplied with more uniform coke. Some mines selected for this study are successfully producing coke of uniform sulfur and ash content; introduction of some method or practice at other mines might make possible use of coal for metallurgical processes that could not be employed otherwise.
