Vapor phase product balance: stalls 17 and 54A for June 1944

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7320646
A quantitative analysis is given of processes in Stalls 17 and 54A during 720 hours of operation in June, 1944. The composition of new input was 21.9% P101, 54.5% P102, 22.7% P64, and .9% P18. This new input was mixed in the ratio 58.2:41.8 with P302 and injected into the ovens at a loading of 0.717 tons/hr/m/sup 3/ (thus 0.418 tons/hr/m/sup 3/ of new input). There were 879 m/sup 3/ fresh gas (0707 tons H/sub 2/) consumed per ton of gasoline and .0330 tons H/sub 2/ consumed per ton of injection product. The V330 gasoline was obtained with a 0.335 tons/hr/m/sup 3/ yield. A production factor gasoline + gasification + salts:gasoline) of 1.232 was obtained. The products from 1033.0 kg injection plus the hydrogen produced was 891 kg in the catch pot (gas free), and 9.16 kg of reaction water (4.96 kg salts in injection water and reaction water consisting of 3.77 kg NH/sub 3/, 0.99 kg H/sub 2/S, 0.10 kg CO/sub 2/, and 0.10 kg phenols). The gases obtained consisted of 4.58 kg free H/sub 2/ in gases after a pressure reduction, 125.48 kg hydrocarbons (C = 2.499), 0.01 kg CO/sub 2/, 0.83 kg H/sub 2/S, and 1.36 kg NH/sub 3/. The percentages referred to injection and H/sub 2/ were 86.4% in catchpot, .887% in reaction water, 0.443% free H/sub 2/ in gases after pressure reduction, 12.156% hydrocarbons, 0.001% CO/sub 2/, 0.080% H/sub 2/S 0.131% NH/sub 3/, and 0.481% salts in injection and reaction water. The boiling point of the injection was 101/sup 0/ and of the new input was 195/sup 0/. The same type information was given for data taken in May, 1944.
