Field tests of micellar-polymer flooding are presently being conducted in the 650 ft Shallow Sand of the Admire Group, El Dorado Field, Butler County, Kansas. The porosity in the reservoir ranges up to 30 percent, permeability is 150 to 1,500 md, and the crude viscosity is about 37/sup 0/ API. Before micellar-polymer flooding the reservoir had been waterflooded. Treatment includes a preflush, a micellar slug, polymer and drive water. A recovery of up to 330,000 bbl or 0.46 percent of residual oil is expected.
