Two micellar-polymer combinations will be compared in a field test at the Admire section of the basal Permian Waubaunsee, El Dorado Field, Butler County, Kansas. The shallow sand has a porosity of 25 to 30 percent and a permeability of 150 to more than 1,500 md. Crude oil gravity is 37/sup 0/ and the viscosity is 4 cp at the formation temperature of 70/sup 0/F. The formation has been waterflooded with salt water. A preflush, micellar injection, polymer injection and final-drive water are the sequence of floods to be used for oil recovery.
