The Jadco-Hughes site is on the National Priorities List. From 1971 to 1975, C.A. Hughes operated a solvent reclamation and storage facility at the site. On-site contamination consists of 1,2-dichloroethane, barium, nickel, chromium, lead, and aluminum in surface water; and cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and polychlorinated biphenyls in sediment. Off-site contamination consists of 1,2-dichloroethane and barium in surface water, polychlorinated biphenyls and nickel in sediment. Based on the information available, the site is considered to be of potential public health concern due to the risk to human health caused by the possibility of exposure to hazardous substances via contaminated surface water, sediment, and groundwater.
