Echo in plasma slab

In an analysis of the spatial echo of longitudinal waves in a plasma slab for the case of specular reflection of the plasma particles from the slab boundaries, it is shown that when the frequencies of the external sources satisfy the condition ..cap alpha omega../sub 1/=..beta omega../sub 2/ (where ..cap alpha.. and ..beta.. are integers) a plasma echo resonance arises in the slab, because of the superposition of a large number of echo oscillations at a single point. The amplitude of the echo field is proportional to the square of the ratio of the mean free path of the plasma particles to the slab thickness.
