Nonlinear reflection and transmission are analyzed for electromagnetic waves incident normally on a plasma slab immersed in a constant magnetic field and a variable longitudinal electric field. The effect is due to the appearance of transverse echo currents near the slab boundaries and the subsequent radiation of electromagnetic waves into the surrounding space by these currents. The study is carried out for various types of electron reflection at the slab boundaries; specular, approximately specular, and approximately diffuse. In the specular case, quadrupole radiation is emitted, while in the other two cases it is of a dipole nature. The nonlinear reflection and transmission coefficients of the electromagnetic wave are shown to be oscillatory functions of the external magnetic field.
