Characteristics of FEU-130 photomultiplier

Journal Article · · Instrum. Exp. Tech. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)

This paper presents measurements of single-electron spectra for various potential distributions and positions of the light spot on the photocathode. It is shown that, for the FEU-130, the amplitude distribution of single-electron pulses differs greatly from a Poisson distribution. Data on the short-term instability of the FEU-130 are given. Recommendations on divider selection are made. The duration of the FEU-130 single-electron pulse at the base is ca 6 nsec, which can be important for operation in the photon-counting mode.
