Progress is reported on studies of photooxidation and photocatalyzed dismutation of H/sub 2/O/sub 2/ in dark-adapted chloroplasts or after flash illumination; flash-induced proton uptake and release in chromatophores isolated from photosynthetic bacteria; the dependence of base-induced fluorescence on the redox potential of chloroplasts in suspensions; and the kinetic parameters related to O/sub 2/ and CO/sub 2/ uptake in whole algae.
