An estimate of the rephasing-invariant quantity J
- Shizuoka Univ. (Japan). Dept. of Physics
The 3 {times} 3 Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix V is parametrized, without using a CP violation phase parameter explicitly, by four independent parameters {alpha} {identical to} {vert bar}V{sub us}{vert bar}, {beta} {identical to} {vert bar}V{sub cb}{vert bar}, {gamma} {identical to} {vert bar}{sub ub}{vert bar} and {omega} {identical to} {vert bar}V{sub cd}{vert bar}{sup 2} {minus} {vert bar}V{sub us}{vert bar}{sup 2}. The rephasing-invariant quantity J of CP nonconservation is estimated by means of extrapolation form J = 0 at {gamma}{sup 2} = 0. It is speculated that {vert bar}J{vert bar} {approx equal} {alpha}{beta}{gamma} {approx equal} 3.8 {times} 10{sup {minus}5} and {omega} = {minus}{alpha}{sup 2}{beta}{sup 2} {approx equal} 9.4 {times} 10{sup {minus}5}.
