Fast action in setting up a unit at Coyanosa, West Texas, has made possible a gas-cycling plant at the field that will add 50 million bbl of condensate to ultimate recovery. The pay zone is the rich Wolfcamp formation. The plant is 22 miles NW. of Fort Stockton in Pecos County. The new gas-cycling plant already is on stream, turning out about 7,000 bpd of liquefied petroleum products. Gas from the Wolfcamp is one of the richest gas streams in the country. At present, it is producing from 150 to 225 bbl of condensate per million cu ft of gas. This stream is coming from about 10,000 ft in the Coyanosa area. The pay has an estimated reserve of 600 billion cu ft of wet gas. If produced by primary depletion alone, condensate recovery would be only 35 bbl per 1 MMcf. The rest of the liquids would be trapped in the reservoir. There are at least 2 other good zones in the field. These are the Devonian at 12,000 ft and the Ellenburger at 15,000 ft. The field also has some oil from the Delaware sand at 5,000 ft. The plant is handling 35 MMcfd of gas being produced from 5 wells in the field. After the liquids are taken out, gas is reinjected in the Wolfcamp for pressure maintenance.
