Tensor mesons as a source of low-mass dimuons

Recently, anomalous production of dimuons with m < 600 MeV has been reported in 16-GeV/c ..pi../sup +/p collisions. Production and subsequent decay of the tensor mesons f and A/sub 2//sup 0/ is suggested as a source for these dimuons.
