Atropisomerism of N-(dialkoxyphosphinyl)-N,N'-bisorganosulfonyl-p-phenylenediamines

It was proved that the reactions of dialkyl hydrogen phosphites, of trialkyl phosphites, and of dialkyl trimethylsilyl phosphites (with subsequent hydrolysis) with N,N'-bisorganosulfonyl-p-benzoquinone diimines are stereospecific, and it was shown also that there is restricted rotation around the N-C/sub Ar/, N-P, and N-S bonds in the products of these reactions, which made it possible to isolate individual atropodiastereoisomers of N-(dialkoxyphosphinyl)-N,N'-bisorganosulfonyl-p-phenylenediamines, stable to heat up to their melting points. PMR spectra were obtained for all the compounds.
