History of electric power in Manitoba. Revised edition

This history reviews the electrical industry in Manitoba as well as the development of electric utility companies and their facilities and programs. Significant events covered in the history include the installation of the first electric lights, electric street railways, and power plants; the growth of Winnipeg and the development of ever larger hydroelectric plants; rural electrification; the introduction of technological innovations; amalgamation of power companies to form Manitoba Hydro; expansion into the north of the province; and development of the hydroelectric resources of the Nelson River.
