DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/6932121· OSTI ID:6932121
This report provides information for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and its staff to build upon, as appropriate, when considering matters related to hydroelectric licensing, relicensing, or recommendation for Federal takeover. The Clark Fork-Pend Oreille River basin, a major component of the Columbia River basin, drains western Montana, the panhandle region of northern Idaho, the northeastern corner of Washington, and 1,203 square miles in southern British Columbia. The economy of the basin, existing water-resources and related land-resources development, Thompson Falls development and Kerr Project, need for further development of water-resources and related land-resources, and survey of future development of water and related resources are discussed in separate chapters.
