Temperature dependence of the gas-phase self-reaction of HO/sub 2/ in the presence of NH/sub 3/. [2-MeV electrons]

The dependence of the rate constant for the overall reaction HO/sub 2/ + HO/sub 2/ ..-->.. products on temperature (290 to 400 K) and concentration of NH/sub 3/ is reported. Analysis of the results yields values of ..delta..H/sup 0//sub 298/ = 13 +- 1.5 kcal/mol and ..delta..G/sup 0//sub 298/ = 3.3 +- 0.2 kcal/mol for the formation of the HO/sub 2/-NH/sub 3/ complex.
