A method is described of controlling the fuel supply to an internal combustion engine at acceleration, wherein a basic value of a quantity of fuel to be supplied to the engine is set in response to at least a parameter other than a throttle valve opening representative of load on the engine, and the set basic value is increased by the use of an accelerating fuel increment which is set in response to the valve opening speed of a throttle valve arranged in an intake passage of the engine and the rotational speed of the engine which are detected at the moment the state of acceleration of the engine is detected.
