Fuel supply control method for internal combustion engines capable of improving accelerability of the engine from an idling region thereof

Patent ·
OSTI ID:5731575
A fuel supply control method is described for an internal combustion engine having an intake passage and an exhaust passage, a throttle valve arranged in the intake passage, and exhaust gas purifying means arranged in the exhaust passage, the method being adapted to store predetermined basic fuel quantity values which correspond, respectively, to predetermined values of at least one operating parameter of the engine indicative of intake air flow rate, other than throttle valve opening, and the rotational speed of the engine, read out one of the predetermined basic fuel quantity values which corresponds to the detected value of the at least one operating parameter, determine from the read one basic fuel quantity value a quantity of fuel appropriate to an operating condition in which the engine is operating, and supply the determined quantity of fuel to the engine.
