Automation of pitch coke production

In the presence of a large number of variable factors, which is a characteristic of the pitch coke production technology, problems of improving the efficiency of the pitch coke divisions cannot be solved without automation of the principal technological processes of this industry. This is also of great social importance, since it permits a decrease of the time of presence of the service personnel in an atmosphere with a high concentration of toxic substances. The principal segments of the pitch coke section have now been automated: the pitch preparation section, the tops of the pitch coke ovens, and the condensation section. The scheme for automation of the condensation section includes: stabilization of the quantity of water in the gas main cooling cycle; automatic control of the sedimentation of the pitch tar in the industrial tanks; and matching of the flow rate of the pitch tar to the reactors with its entry into the condensation division.
