The condensation technology at the recovery facility of the chemical products of the coking process is being completely automated at the by-product coking plant of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Complex. The level of tar in the mechanized filtration devices, and the level of condensate and water in the gas collecting mains are maintained automatically. The flow rate of the tar in the wash boxes of the final gas cooling units, and the outflow of it from the lower section of the apparatus, are regulated by a system for regulating the level at which the separation of the tar-water phases takes place. It is mostly standard industrial devices manufactured by Soviet industry which are used for automatic control and regulation.
