The presence of organic reagents on the surface of coal causes appearance of additional endothermic effects on the thermograms of all types of coal in the 300-500/sup 0/C temperature range. On the thermograms of gas coal types, one observes a shift of the principal endothermic effect into the low-temperature region by 70-90/sup 0/C. The total values of the thermal effects of the endothermic processes under the effect of the investigated reagents decrease for gas coal types and increase for types Zh and K coals. The decrease in the weight loss and the increase in the order of the reaction on heating of coal types treated with reagents as compared with the raw coal shows that the reagent molecules are not desorbed from the surface of the coal under the effect of temperature, but participate in the chemical conversions of the coal organic matter.
