Observation of charmed. lambda. /sup +//sub c/ baryons produced in the neutron beam of the Serpukhov accelerator

The production of charmed ..lambda../sup +//sub c/ baryons has been observed in the reaction nC..--> lambda../sup +//sub c/X at an average energy approx.40 GeV of the incident neutrons. The product of the ..lambda../sup +//sub c/ production cross section and the probability for the decay ..lambda../sup +//sub c/..-->..K-bar/sup 0/p..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ is 1--10 ..mu..b/nucleon.
