Scheduled for completion in 1986, Trans Quebec and Maritimes' new 2096-mile gas pipeline system will reach new markets in Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Comprised of 714 miles of mainline and 1382 of laterals, the 4 1/2-30 in. diam pipeline will ultimately require 14 compressor stations, plus an underground storage facility in New Brunswick. In 1981, TQM finished the first leg of the system - a mostly 30-in. line from Saint-Lazare to Boisbriand.
