Sixteen witnesses from the solar and other renewable energy industries as well as representatives of the homebuilding industry, lobbyists, and members of Congress testified at a joint hearing on the status and problems of the solar industry. The witnesses were asked to address the need for extending business and renewable tax credits beyond the expiration date and other ways to promote the industry, which has experienced less growth than expected. Despite budget cuts in federal programs, the solar industry has outpaced the economy. Material submitted by other organizations and individuals for the record follows the testimony.
