Influence of 1p-1h-excited. cap alpha. particles on elastic. cap alpha. -. cap alpha. scattering

The influence of channels with 1p-1h-excited ..cap alpha.. particles with S = T = 0 on elastic ..cap alpha..-..cap alpha.. scattering is studied in the framework of the Feshbach projection operator formalism. Calculated phase shifts and transmission coefficients for ..cap alpha..-..cap alpha.. scattering are compared to experimental data for c.m. energies between 15 and 35 MeV. The effect of positive parity ..cap alpha..-..cap alpha..* rotational states is discussed.
