A method of scale prevention consists of using aqueous or aromatic petroleum distillate solutions of branched polyamines and branched polyamines derivatives containing various chemical groupings. Such groupings are the oxyalkylated, acylated, alkylated, carbonylated, olefinated, etc., derivatives. They are prepared by introducing such groups individually, alternatively, of in combination, etc., including for example, derivatives prepared by varying the order of adding such groups, by increasing the number and order of adding such groups and the like. They may be used as demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, fuel oil additives for gasoline diesel fuel, jet fuel, mud additives, bactericides, water treatment in water flooding, well stimulation fluid additives, and the like. There are numerous other uses for these products.
