To develop the energy guidelines, the overall studies are broken down into two distinct categories, load and supply. Three key design approaches: the sealed box, the direct gain, and indirect gain, are analyzed for all three high density conditions, new, rehabilitated, and retrofit. The energy and financial guidelines are discussed in relation to the Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh. (MHR)
