Static quadrupole moments for the 2/sup +/ states of /sup 54,56,58/Fe

The static quadrupole moments of the first 2/sup +/ excited states of /sup 54/Fe, /sup 56/Fe, and /sup 58/Fe were measured utilizing the reorientation effect in Coulomb excitation. Results for B(E2;0/sup +/..-->..2/sup +/) and Q(2/sup +/) values were obtained by combining, for each Fe isotope, light heavy ion (/sup 12/C or /sup 16/O) and heavier heavy ion (/sup 52/Cr or /sup 40/Ca) Coulomb excitation results. Scattered /sup 12/C or /sup 16/O ions or recoiling Fe ions were detected in a quadrupole-dipole-dipole-dipole spectrometer. The results for the B(E2;0/sup +/..-->..2/sup +/), Q(2/sup +/) pairs (in e/sup 2/fm/sup 4/ and efm/sup 2/) are as follows: /sup 54/Fe, 676 +- 38, -5 +- 14; /sup 56/Fe, 1022 +- 55, -19 +- 8; and /sup 58/Fe, 1234 +- 36, -27.3 +- 5.0.
