Egyptian mining industry: impact on the social and economic structure

Finance and investment, technological development, governmental legislation and fiscal policies, and public attitudes are among the major issues confronting the Egyptian minerals industry. This article delineating Egypt's policies of mining industry - here meaning fuel and non-fuel minerals policies - looks at objectives of these policies, their interrelationships and their impact to the social and economic structure, and discusses subsequent events and future prospects. It explicitly considers issues such as: economic management, development objectives, investment, environment and mineral processing, and likely near-term developments.
