Search for cumulative. omega. mesons in the reaction. pi. /sup -/ Cu. -->. omega. (180/sup 0/)X at momentum 3. 8 GeV/c

The energy spectrum of 3..gamma.. events produced in copper nuclei by 3.8-GeV/c ..pi../sup -/ mesons has been measured in the range of kinetic energies 0< or =T< or =400 MeV at a lab angle 180/sup 0/. An upper limit for the invariant cross section for production of ..omega.. mesons in the reaction ..pi../sup -/Cu..-->.. ..omega..(180/sup 0/)X is determined.
