Plenty of peakshaving supplies will be available for the 1975-76 winter season, according to Pipeline Gas Journal's annual peakshaving survey. Approximately 59.53 billion ft/sup 3//day will be available, which when added to the regularly scheduled gas supply provides a maximum delivery of 119 billion ft/sup 3//day. Gas shortages predicted for the mid-Atlantic states plus West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio will affect industrial and interruptible customers but not residential and essential-services users. Underground storage represents 79.8% of the industry's peakshaving capacities, with new developments being planned by almost 20 companies. Four major LNG facilities were added during 1975, boosting peakshaving capabilities by 455 million ft/sup 3//day.
