Peakshaving capacity reaches record total for 1982-83 winter
Indicates that a winter capacity of 73.54 billion cu ft maximum delivery for one 24-hr period, using gas from all available peakshaving gas sources, could be available if needed. Points out that supplemental gas supplies from propane-air plants, LNG peakshaving plants, and underground storage, as well as other sources such as line pack, SNG plants, gas holders, etc., are expected to provide a substantial portion of the gas demand at any one time during the winter season in areas such as the north central and northeastern states where cold weather often prevails for extended periods. Explains that although propane-air plant sendout gas provides only 7.14% of the total 73.54 Bcf maximum delivery capacity of the nation's gas industry peakshaving facilities, it is an extremely valuable resource for companies who depend upon it to ''shave'' the very highest wintertime peak demands. Discusses LNG peakshaving developments in the US and in Europe.
