Fire at AMOCO's Ras Shukheir terminal

A fire at Amoco's Ras Shukheir terminal on Egypt's Gulf of Suez coast has destroyed 110,000 bbl of oil worth $2 million. The fire, which took two days to bring under control, started in a partially full tank and spread to a second. Crude in ten other tanks was loaded into waiting tankers.
