Study of. gamma. radiation accompanying. cap alpha. decay of /sup 235/U and. beta. /sup -/ decay of /sup 231/Th

Semiconductor detectors and electronic equipment have been used to study the ..gamma.. radiation accompanying the radioactive decay of /sup 235/U and /sup 231/Th. 102 ..gamma.. lines were served in the ..gamma.. spectra. A combined analysis of the spectra obtained permits assignment of 50 of them to ..cap alpha.. decay of /sup 235/U, and the remaining ..gamma.. lines are due to the ..beta../sup -/ decay of the thorium isotope indicated. Many of the observed ..gamma.. lines have been observed for the first time. Tables of values of E/sub ..gamma../ and I/sub ..gamma../ are given. An energy level scheme of the /sup 231/Th nucleus is constructed from the experimental data.
