A three-phase stall was provided for the construction step 20 and two two-phase stalls were provided for the construction step 21. Operation was planned immediately for the construction step 21 and the stall was calculated for this step. Each stall contained two converters, 1000-mm inside diameter and 18 m long; two heat exchangers, 1000 mm inside dimaeter, 18 m long, and 199 tubes; one gas-heated preheater; and one cooler. The thruput per stall was 18 tons/hr of middle oil, 28000 m/sup 3//hr of operating gas, and 395/sup 0/C inlet temperature of converter I. The amount of cold gas provided for was 9,000 m/sup 3//hr. The heating surface of the heat exchanger was 188 m/sup 2/ and the heat transfer number was calculated to be 133 kcal/m/sup 2//hr. The required amount of heat for the preheater was 1,550,000 kcal/hr. The temperatures were 30/sup 0/C at the heat exchanger inlet (forward pass), 320/sup 0/C at the heat exchanger outlet, 345/sup 0/C at the preheater outlet, 405/sup 0/C at the converter outlet and heat exchanger inlet (return pass), 172/sup 0/C at the heat exchanger outlet and cooler inlet, and 30/sup 0/C at the cooler outlet. The computations for the above figures are shown.
