Structure functions of vector mesons in the inclusive process e/sup +/e/sup -/. -->. VX in the relativistic quark model

The inclusive process e/sup +/e/sup -/..-->..VX is considered in the framework of quantum chromodynamics using the relativistic quark model. The structure functions of a polarized vector meson are calculated and, in particular, their dependence on the transverse momentum p/sub perpendicular/ of the meson with respect to the jet axis is determined. It is shown that this same quantity p/sub perpendicular/ determines the polarization of the vector meson and hence also the angular distribution of its decay products.
