Representatives of the natural gas industry and energy agencies testified December 12, 1980 on the implications of the Powerplant and Industrial Fuel Use Act of 1978 and HR 4576, which would allow outdoor residential lighting with gas. Though small, neither the cost nor the amount of gas involved is insignificant. Industry and DOE, however, favor the amendment. The committee was critical of witnesses sent by the two parties because they were below the decision-making level. The text of HR 4576 is followed by six statements and additional material submitted for the record. (DCK)
