Conference ·
OSTI ID:6599494
The momentum spectrum of muons contained in multihadron e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} annihilation events at an average center-of-mass energy {radical}s = 57.3 GeV is used to study the fragmentation functions for heavy quarks. We obtain average values for the fragmentation variable, x{sub E} = E{sub hadron}/E{sub beam} for the b- and c-quark of {l angle}x{sub E}{r angle}{sub b} = 0.77 (+0.12/{minus}0.11) and {l angle}x{sub E}{r angle}{sub c} = 0.57 (+0.08/{minus}0.10), respectively.
