On the basis of the phase-shift analyses of Refs. 1 and 2 we have performed a K-matrix analysis of the partial amplitudes /sup 1/D/sub 2/, /sup 3/F/sub 3/, and /sup 3/P/sub 2/--/sup 3/F/sub 2/ in the energy range 142--1000 MeV and determined locations of poles and values of residues in the pp channel. The pattern of pole location indicates that the resonance behavior of the amplitudes studied is a result of strong coupling in the N..delta.. channel.
