Investigation of the combined processing of solvent naphtha and wash oil fraction
It is shown to be possible and feasible to rectify a mixture of solvent naphtha and broad wash oil fraction with a proportion of solvent of naphtha in the mixture of not over 18% on a rectification apparatus with efficiency of 25 theoretical plates. When a broad wash oil fraction is used its yield may be increased to 12% of the tar. Here in the process of rectification of the tar a naphthalene fraction may be obtained with an increased naphthalene content of 85-87% for subsequent processing to technical naphthalene. As a result of the combined processing of solvent naphtha and wash oil fraction it is possible to produce an additional quantity of naphthalene-containing fraction for subsequent separation of naphthalene, which will permit an increase in the degree of naphthalene extraction from its resources in the tar, and also production of a wash oil of improved quality with still bottoms for production of acenaphthene and other high-boiling components and production of technical carbon.
