Differential cross sections for the reaction. pi. /sup -/p. -->. eta. delta. /sup 0/(1232) at momenta 3. 3 and 4. 75 GeV/c
The differential cross section has been measured for the reaction ..pi../sup -/p..-->..eta..delta../sup 0/(1232) at p/sub ..pi..//sub =/ = 3.3 and 4.75 GeV/c in the region of momentum transfers from -t/sub min/ to 0.37 (GeV/c)/sup 2/. In the differential cross section we observe a minimum in the forward direction which indicates a substantial role of the amplitude with change of helicity. The experimental data were fitted by a dependence dsigma/dt' = A(1-gCt') exp(Ct'), where g is the ratio of the scattering amplitudes with and without spin flip. For the reaction ..pi../sup -/p..-->..eta..delta../sup 0/(1232) we have calculated the effective Regge trajectory ..cap alpha..(t') = (0.49 +- 0.09)+(0.8+0.5)t'.
