Quark structure of the nucleon and the strong meson-nucleon form factors

The nucleon as a three-quark system is studied in the virton-quark model. The basic static characteristics of the proton and the neutron are calculated: the magnetic moments, the electromagnetic radii, and the ratio G/sub A/ /G/sub V/ . The strong meson-nucleon form factors which determine the nucleon-nucleon potential are obtained as functions of the square of the momentum transfer of the meson. A comparison is made with the phenomenological form factors used to describe the phase shifts for NN scattering in models of single-boson exchange.
