Partial inelasticity coefficients in hadron interactions with various targets

The partial inelasticity coefficients, which give the fraction of energy transferred to the electromagnetic component, are compared for inelastic collisions of pions and protons with various targets (pion, proton, C, Al, Fe, Pb, Xe, emulsion nuclei). It is shown that the value of the partial inelasticity coefficient a/sub g/ is determined by the nature of the incident particle and depends weakly on the nature of the target.
