The project proposes oil and gas lease sale, in the Outer Continental Shelf, Gulf of Mexico. Two-hundred fifteen tracts (952,592.48 acres) of Outer Continental Shelf lands are proposed for leasing action. The tracts are located offshore Louisiana; 12 tracts (69,120 acres) are situated in water depths of 300 m or beyond. If implemented, the sale is tentatively scheduled to be held in early spring, 1974. All tracts offered pose some degree of pollution risk to the environment and adjacent shoreline.
