Measurements in the photon-energy range 0. 25--1 GeV of the. pi. /sup 0/-meson photoproduction total cross sections on Be, C, and O nuclei with no charged particles in the final state

The ..pi../sup 0/-meson photoproduction total cross sections on /sup 9/Be, /sup 12/C, and /sup 16/O nuclei have been measured at photon energies in the range 0.25--1 GeV using a system for tagging ..gamma.. rays and ..pi../sup 0/-meson detectors covering a approx.4..pi.. solid angle. For comparison with theoretical predictions we derived the ..pi../sup 0/-meson coherent photoproduction cross sections on carbon and oxygen from the measured ..pi../sup 0/-meson photoproduction total cross sections, and the nuclear photodisintegration cross section for carbon.
