A subsea Y-piece connection, which permits through pigging by intelligent pipe equipment from both upstream sources, was installed on the Ula to Ekofisk crude trunkline in Norway's North Sea sector. The Y-piece will allow a future tie-in of a second field without the need to shut down the Ula production.
